Eagle is another short-lived brand in the automobile industry. It was a small division of Chrysler which was in the market from 1987 to 1998. The company was formed on purchasing American Motors Corporation by Chrysler Corporation. The name for the company was framed from AMC Eagle which was the last vehicle designed by American Motors Corporation. After buying the company, Chrysler Corporation formed Jeep/Eagle division. Vehicles were sold through AMC dealers with Jeep products. The first model to be released by Eagle was named Premier followed by Medallion. Both were manufactured by AMC . The other Eagle vehicles were simply the re-badged versions of Chrysler's vehicles and the foreign-built vehicles imported by Mitsubishi Motors. The models of Eagle were sold under the dealership of Chrysler-Plymouth, Dodge, and Mitsubishi. During the later part of the 80s Chrysler was under financial crisis. They targeted the super-seller Jeep and all the concentration were diverted to Jeep vehicles. Later in the 80s Eagle Vista and Eagle Summit were introduced. The 90s saw the brand roll out Eagle Talon, Eagle 2000GTX and Eagle Vision models. After these models Eagle was not able to withstand the market. In November 1997Chrysler announced the discontinuation of the Eagle brand.
